BSD Starter Page
Welcome to my site, and congratulations on your interest in what
is one of the best operating systems ever designed. I am working steadily
on this page constantly, so please check back often to see what's new.
I have had some reports that this site is difficult access using the FreeBSD
native version of Netscape. (I'm using the Linux version on FreeBSD, so
hadn't realized it. Apparently these problems are caused by the large amounts
of Javascript created by FortuneCity's bot. Because of this, I will be
moving this page to a new site very soon, and will post the information
here as soon as I have it. If you have any suggestions of material to include,
please email them to me.
Read more about the goals and purpose of this site.
To start off, here are some links worth looking at while I get the rest
of the page going:
That should get you started on the main three sites for the BSD's. Next
up, some links that should prove informative if you are new to the BSD
way of doing things, particularly if you are coming from a heavily mouse
influenced operating system:
-
For People New
to Both FreeBSD and Unix - This page was particularly helpful in learning
some of the standard commands.
-
Unix Guru Universe - From beginner to
advanced, there's always something to learn here.
-
Dæmon News - A good place
to browse articles for various issues with running BSD.
-
FreeBSD 'zine - Another good newsletter,
although it hasn't been updated for several weeks due to changing circumstances.
Hopefully they'll be back soon.
These next pages are a work in progress, but I decided to publish
what's done so far. I'll be filling in the links soon.
That's where I'm going to leave it for now. Above all, remember
to have fun with your new system.

Last update January 22, 2000. I feel that it is
important to note that this site is in no way endorsed by any of the linked
sites. This is a personal endeavour to help other users of the BSD operating
system. Banners used by permission. Comments or questions please email
